2: How do your prices compare with so called superstores or the sheds?
We always say that you should always go with the fitted on the floor price ie how much you have to part with , because it really does not matter how much some places say they are per sqmtr/yd2 by the time it is properly fitted with a good underlay,smoothedge/doorbars their prices seem to creep up ,we know we do a good job at a reasonable price and a lot of the time our customers find we are even cheaper.
3: Is the fitting done to high standards?
Yes , all fitting undertaken by our fitters is done to a very high standard with a fitting gaurantee to match , not only on the day ,which should be good anyway ,even after it has been done should it need a restretch simply telephone and we will arrange for our fitters to call back no problem.(see our customer feedback on home pagealso you are not in business since 1990 if you dont do a good job.
4: do you give discounts?
usually on full houses , we can offer volume discounts , coupled with other special offers like free fitting , free s/edge and free delivery it can save your hard earned money also for pensioners discounts are available and previous customers usually benefit as well.
5: What about advice on my purchase ?
All you have to do is phone us and we will be happy to take you through the good and bad of all flooring , leaving you to decide what would be most suitable for your needs, and with over 25 years experience you can be assured the advice is the right one , and also as we do not work on commision , we wont sell you a carpet just because its dearer but because its the right one for you.
6: What happens after I place my order?
After you place your order and pay a deposit ,we will order your carpet/floorcoverings for you , when we have it our office will telephone you to inform you your purchase is in and to arrange a fitting date.
7: Can I specify a date for my purchase to be delivered to my home?
we do try to accomodate your chosen date if you want a specific date ,subject to stock levels , we will try our best to get it in on that date for you.if for any reason it is not possible we will phone you a.s.a.p after order to arrange another suitable day
8: Can I specify a time for delivery?
again we will try our best to give you as accurate time as we can , however the closest time is first thing in the morning , after that things can happen to delay fitting teams , if it is suitable the fitters can be arranged to phone you beforehand or when they are on their way.
9: What if I cancel my fitting day?
Your deliveryfitting will then be re-scheduled and you should be aware this may mean a delay in the delivery/fitting of your floorcovering.
10: What arrangements should I make before the delivery/fitting?
our fitters do request that the old floorcoverings are removed and the room as clear as possible as this make sure they can get the proper stretch on the floorcoverings , all old nails etc should be removed , basically we should have a clean, clear flat surace to make sure you get the best possible results.
11: Do i have to have the rooms clear for the fitters?
as above ,In an ideal world the rooms would be completly clear for the fitters ,however we do realise that this is not always possible and our fitters are pretty obliging ,but please be aware that we must know before fitting day ,as fitting jobs are timed to try and give approx times for fitting and if you leave until the day the fitters may not have the time to do your job which would mean a delay ,which we cannot be held responsible. The best course is to say to the estimator who can allow for the extra time and put it on your invoice.
12: What if i can not manage to get the room clear ?
please dont worry? we understand that some people either do not have the time or simply can not manage this themselves , with this in mind we can provide a service where we can move furniture , uplift old carpets and dispose of them for you, this must be arranged at time of order , there is a small charge for this service depending on what is involved but can again be discussed at time of order.
13: what about the rubbish/waste?
The fitters will leave any waste material neatly in a bag or in a corner for you to dispose of unless arranged before hand , although we would like to remove all rubbish due to local goverment rules we cant just go to the tip and have to hire skips , which would mean putting prices up , any decent sizes that they leave can be made into mats or runners for you.
14: What if i have a problem after fitting?
In the unlikely event that you do have any problems with fitting issues or your carpet develops a fault after fitting ,we have procedures that we follow ,if it is a fitting issue please call and we will get the fitter to return to solve it ,with material issues most carpet manufacturers prefer to inspect carpets in situ on material complaints, therefore if this happens ,firstly please phones us and we will send some one to inspect from our company , if we cant resolve it there and then we will arrange for a rep from the manufacturer or an independant inspector to contact you direct , who will then report back to the manufacturer with his findings , we find this is the best way to resolve any manufacturing issues as quite often there is a technical reason and to just replacing floorcoverings can just give you the same problem again and that way you wont benefit from your floorcovering.
15: lines/band in carpets
sometimes when a carpet is fitted lines which look like bands can be apparent in your carpet ,if you have any concerns please ask the fitter at the time or phone the office , although we realize these are unslightly 9 times out of ten these vanish after a while , but they are mainly caused by pile pressure and as the air gets into the carpet they usually go away , we would ask you to be patient if this happens and we will take a note of your concerns and this wont affect your rights.
16: I see you do window blinds as well can these be done at the same time as my carpets?
yes they can , we can install the blinds at the same time as your floorcoverings for a quick and hassle free service , in fact many full house customers take advantage of this service which also saves them time and money.
17: Can i use my current Underlay with my new carpet?
You can have your new floorcovering fitted on old Underlay, but it is not always recomended ,Carpet needs to have a firm support so that you can get the best performance out of your new carpet. Having new underlay will give your new carpet extra life, compared to being put on old underlay. In time, your currently underlay will have become flatened as your carpet has worn.
18: Do i have to have Underlay?
This all depends on what type of carpet you are looking to purchase.
Woven carpets do not have any type of cushioned backing, therefore underlay is required.
Carpets with a secondary backing usually have either a polypropylene mesh or hessian backing with no cushioning, therefore underlay is required.
Felt backed carpets have a thin layer of felt which is often described as having a built in underlay. Unfortunately, this 'felt back' offers very little in the way of the benefits compared to our underlay products.
